ABOUT

Who I Am.

As a mother of 4 in the Somerset School District and a member of this community with my husband for the last 13 years, I have a great passion for seeing the success of our schools, kids, and community. Prioritizing the building of strong moral character, critical thinking, and academic excellence in every K-12 student will prepare them for a successful future and to be productive members of society. If elected, I will be an advocate for high academic standards, parental involvement, curriculum transparency, and accessibility. I want to uphold strong, traditional family values in our schools. As an active member of the community, an engaged parent, and an advocate for high standards of education, I am well-suited to serve on the school board and would be honored to earn your vote.

My history.

My roots are local, yet my worldview is shaped by experiences in other geographies and cultures. I grew up in River Falls and left home to attend Christendom College in Northern Virginia (just outside the DC beltway), where I received a B.A. in Political Science and Economics. I was excited to meet new people, be in a different environment and take on new challenges. I also had the enriching opportunity to study abroad in Ireland.

My professional achievements and personal contributions have equipped me with unique and diverse insights and perspectives. I have worked in a variety of different fields including health, law enforcement and customer service, including being the owner of an award-winning self-start up business based in Somerset. I am a volunteer, both in my church with its outreach programs and in local sports. I have demonstrated leadership in both my professional life and personal life.

I have a passion to learn, study, and research, and being objective is very important to me.  I do my homework and understand as much as I can before making statements or asking questions so that I can back up what I say.  I enjoy reading about the latest trends and legislation in education.   My love for research leads me to ask pointed and direct questions.  I am always up for a respectful discussion with people who hold different viewpoints.  I am open, willing, and eager to collaborate with board members, parents, and the community, while representing the principles on which I am running and the voters who are supporting me.
